Job Summary:
With our business growth, we are looking for a focused and meticulous Supplier Quality Engineer to join our Supply Chain Management Team. The responsibilities of the Supply Chain Quality Engineer include advance quality planning, reviewing quality of incoming materials/parts from our suppliers for any defects before goods are shipped from our vendors. Same time, analysing any field returns from our customers to ensure corrective actions are in place internally and as well externally to ensure defect free deliveries to our esteemed customers.
The position will require the candidate to work closely with key staff in engineering, purchasing and sales to understand existing and new products. Ensuring all quality deliverables are in full conformance with established standards and specifications. Serving as a liaison between our company's senior management and the vendors to identify quality issues and come up with solutions.
Position will start with a part time role that is likely to become a full-time position with growth in our business. We are offering the right candidate a flexible work schedule that can be mutually agreed to meet our business needs and growth.
Position is responsible for:
- Reviewing our engineering and manufacturing specifications to ensure these are fit from design for manufacturing to avert any quality issues pro-actively. Support the Project Engineering group during new part development / program review meetings.
- Assist & work with suppliers with advance product quality efforts in coordination with Engineering/Design and program management through launch of new product programs to assure adherence to specification.
- Work together with the Purchasing Team to identify and qualify new suppliers and in developing existing suppliers to meet the business needs and better manage product life cycle.
- Assist with the development of PPAP documentation (dimensional verification requirements, process flow charts, control plans, FMEAs, MSA and material analysis) as required by the Quality Management System.
- Working with Purchasing to monitor current supplier performance re its Impact on our Quality, Delivery and Cost.
- Investigate, analyse, and assist with corrective actions for any supplier quality concerns to develop and maintain overall supplier delivery and final product performance.
- Maintaining detailed reports on supplier quality, including defect rates and areas that result in flaws. Generate/issue monthly individual supplier quality performance and customer returns data for management attention.
- Define areas of weakness of individual suppliers and establish goals for improvement. Develop and implement a follow-up mechanism with suppliers regularly aiming to increase our supplier base's quality performance.
- Review, instigate and liaise with external stakeholders to act on warranty claim promptly.
- Take responsibility for opening SCARs (Supplier Corrective Action Report) and ensuring they are approved and closed.
- Develop and execute a continuous Supplier Audit Schedule virtually. Providing technical advice and guidance to suppliers to reduce defect rates.
- Work with warehouse teams across our global locations to define any quality control checks are completed on incoming goods as required, prior to being receipted into stock in the warehouse.
- Maintain good relationships with customers and suppliers through the warranty and quality control process.

Supplier Quality Engineer Requirements:
To be successful as a Supply Chain Quality Engineer, you should have excellent analytical and technical skills with strong attention to detail. Ultimately, a top-notch Quality Engineer should have excellent communication, problem-solving skills and a strong quality mindset for ensuring proper supply quality control.
- A bachelor's degree in engineering or science,
- Excellent statistical analysis and quality assurance skills with a sound working knowledge of quality control standards and government compliance.
- Good knowledge of the technical aspects of manufacturing and engineering. Experience with manufacturing and production processes and engineering principles is an advantage.
