Support Services - Histology Troubleshooting

Douglass Hanly Moir Pathology is an established and well-respected pathology practice, offering comprehensive, high-quality pathology across NSW and north-west Victoria. We seek an enthusiastic staff to join our fast pace Administration area of the Histology Department.  You will be an essential team member, and your responsibilities will include performing a wide range of histology administration tasks as per the following:

• Troubleshooting- investigating and actioning discrepancies with calling surgeries, doctors and theatres regarding patient details, sites, missing specimens, missing label, missing dictation sites and adding comments regarding correct details. 
• Cross checking pending list, outstanding list, un-imaged, un-allocated and late list
• Dealing with sending away of fresh samples when required
• Consultations- Booking in second opinions into the system and assigning to correct pathologist and ‘copy to’ doctors
• Emails- Regularly checking emails, actioning accordingly.
• Phone Calls- Inbound and many outbound calls as well as taking messages accordingly when required
• MDT’S Billing- Booking in cases into the system to bill to Medicare

• Experience in administrations role/s or similar to position description
• Full time hours Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm
• Excellent phone manner and office computer skills
• Attention to detail and good time management skills.
• Team player with the ability to work unsupervised
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
