ABOUT US Sanctuary Place is an enterprise dedicated to confronting the ever-growing challenge of homelessness and living in poverty head-on, by providing housing and support services to those in crisis. We believe that everyone, regardless of their circumstances, deserves a safe and dignified place to call home.
As Australia’s only builder in this space and the first SECHP (Social Enterprise Community Housing Provider), we have been constructing remarkable houses for the past six years, entirely self-funded.
SPL Living additionally manufactures furniture for our housing, and donated clothing is provided to our participants. Shortly, we embark on food production to ensure nutritious meals for our participants.
Our mission is to provide a long-term, sustainable, self-perpetuating response to the homelessness crisis in Australia. We accomplish this by offering various housing options, including permanent housing, transitional housing, and crisis accommodation.
SPL Living is now delivering disability support services to some of our most disadvantaged community members.
We are seeking individuals who are passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of others.
Our Team is growing and we are seeking Disability Support Workers who are resilient and have a sound understanding of the importance of supporting people with mental health & daily life skills.
To become part of the team here at SPL Living we are looking for people who:
- Are enthusiastic about supporting people in the Community and Assisting with Daily Life Skills.
- Have a caring and empathetic nature.
- Have completed the NDIS Support Worker Orientation Module or willingness to complete prior to commencing.
- Have the ability to support others with domestic duties including meal preparation.
- Enjoy working in a small team environment as well as independently if required.
- Have good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Have a strong sense of accountability and confidentiality.
- Have completed or are completing the Certificate III in Individual Support or Community Services.
ESSENTIAL Requirements (must have or commence process before working):
- NDIS Worker Check from Service NSW
- Have a Current Driver's License and willingness to use own vehicle (if required) with comprehensive insurance.
- Have a Current First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain prior to commencing.
- Working with Children Check (WWCC)
- Excellent communication skills
- Reliable, responsible attitude towards work
Desirable:
- Education or training in disability, mental health or community services
- Lived experience of disability or mental health
- Qualifications or studying towards Social Work, Psychology, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Exercise Physiology, Speech and Allied Health Assistants, or Community Services.
