About the position
The Community Living Supports for Refugees (CLS-R) Program is a unique community-based program based in the Illawarra that provides support to individuals and families from refugee and asylum seeker backgrounds who are experiencing psychological distress, mental ill health, and impaired functioning to live and participate in the community in the way that they want to.
The Support Worker will help consumers to recognise and take responsibility for their own recovery and wellbeing and to define their goals, wishes and aspirations.
Based in Wollongong, we have multiple casual positions available. Individuals with the ability to speak Farsi or Burmese languages are highly sought within the team.
We are looking for someone with:
- Tertiary qualifications in mental health, health, or community/social services discipline (Minimum Certificate IV)
- Demonstrated commitment to working from a recovery orientation, in line with the National Framework for Recovery Oriented Mental Health Services
- Demonstrated skills in engagement and collaboration, with the capability to build and maintain positive working relationships
- Strong organisational skills including the ability to prioritise work, manage multiple tasks and competing priorities and meet deadlines
