AYLA Inc. is a not-for-profit charity based in Perth, Western Australia that strives to aid and strengthen local communities, empower individuals, and assist in crisis situations.
Established in 2010 AYLA Inc. Pty Ltd commenced operation in response to the lack of suitable accessible housing and the demand for flexible, person-centered supports for people living with a disability in WA.
Over the past year, AYLA Inc. has seen a rapid increase in requests for services through our NDIS Wellness program. AYLA Inc.’ has been exponential growing, requiring our team of dedicated support staff to expand alongside our growth.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Our Mentors support clients to undertake activities of their choice and develop community connections, this can include providing social supports out in the community, in-home or at one of AYLA’s Inc.’s accommodation properties. Mentor’s work individually and as part of a team using a person-centered approach to support clients to reach their full potential within NDIS guidelines.
Duties of the role will include:
· Establishing good working relationships with our participants and work effectively with them to achieve the goals as identified in their NDIS Plan;
· Enhancing the participant's capacity to manage their health, welfare and life needs;
· Provide regular person-centred supports in social, community participation and activities of daily living.
· Work both autonomously in a community outreach environment, and collaboratively within a team to deliver high quality supports.
Essential Criteria:
- Cert III in relevant industry qualification and/or significant relevant experience
- Current First Aid and CPR
- Current Working with Children Check (WA)
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Ability to work independently and effectively time manage.
- Understanding of professional boundaries, privacy, and confidentiality
- Able to work as a team
- A proactive approach to the safety and well-being of yourself and customers
- Available for overnight shifts on a rotating roster
- Available for a minimum of 20hours per week
