APG Workforce is seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to join our client in Laverton, a leader in the poultry industry!
This role will require a well experienced Manager that has the ability to oversee 2 of our facilities in the Laverton area. One of those sites being a further processing facility, where you can enjoy the delightful aroma of chicken nuggets and popcorn chicken all day long!
The Role:
Lead the budgeting, planning, and execution of maintenance activities to ensure the smooth operation of our processing plant. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring safety, quality, and productivity standards are met, while driving continual improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of maintenance budgeting, planning, and implementation for plant, equipment, buildings, and infrastructure.
- Manage labor, planning, costs, safety, and quality within the maintenance department.
- Develop and verify the Quality and Food Safety System to comply with legislative and customer requirements.
- Maintain direct working relationships with various stakeholders including production managers, supervisors, and external contractors.
- Drive continuous improvement in maintenance operations.
- Provide operational direction and support to maintenance supervisors and team leaders.
- Ensure prompt and correct decision-making regarding maintenance operations.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and implement suitable controls.
- Adhere to all WHS policies and procedures.
- Achieve maximum productivity for the maintenance department.
- Ensure emergency maintenance procedures are developed and implemented.
- Maintain and repair buildings and infrastructure.
- Foster direct working relationships with workplace colleagues.
- Commit to continual improvement initiatives.
- Provide staff training as required.
- Participate in risk management and WHS-related activities.
- Knowledge of the food processing industry and fleet management.
