About Your Role

The position of Surveillance Officer - Infectious Disease (located within Public Health) has a District role and is responsible and accountable for the surveillance and response to notifications of outbreaks of Infectious Disease.  
This accountability specifically includes: 

• Management of Infectious Disease notifications and associated databases as well as other specialised surveillance systems,
• Response to notifications or outbreaks of Infectious Disease,
• Analysis and interpretation of Infectious Disease data and information,
• Provision of technical and professional advice to health care workers and members of the public
• Response as appropriate to non-Infectious Disease notifications and clusters, made to the Public Health Unit
• Participation in Public Health emergency responses as required and directed

This is a Site Negotiable role across Murrumbidgee LHD/Southern NSW LHD sites.
