Myer is currently seeking a Sustainability Coordinatorto play a key role in supporting and delivering it’s 5-year sustainability strategy. This strategy provides Myer with a clear pathway to tackle climate change and drive sustainable outcomes. The role will have a strong focus specifically on energy, packaging, recycling and waste to drive the business in reducing reliance on the use of natural and non-renewable resources.
About the role:
- Support Myer’s sustainability strategy with a specific focus on energy, packaging, recycling and waste
- Preparation and verification of environmental reporting and regulatory submission documents to ensure compliance is met as well as internal reporting such as leader boards and quarterly updates
- To assist in the implementation and delivery of sustainability initiatives and projects as well as continuous improvements to ensure environmental standards and statutory requirements are met
- Builds and maintains effective working relationships with all stakeholders internal and external
- Educating and influencing stakeholders regarding the importance of sustainable management practices
- Provide technical inputs to identify and address environmental risks is advantageous
About you:
- 1+ years professional experience in a similar or analytical/reporting role
- Passionate about sustainability, environmental impact and climate change
- Proficiency in Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Strong numerical and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail
- Self-driven with a willingness to learn and develop, committed to staying up-to-date with technical and policy developments domestically and globally
- Confident communication skills with the ability to build and maintain positive, productive relationships with key stakeholders at all levels
- Excellent time-management and organisational skills, can effectively plan and prioritise to deliver even when faced with disruption or uncertainty
- Embraces change and open-mindedness to new ideas, opinions and way of analysis
Desirable, but not essential:
- Tertiary qualification/s in a relevant discipline and/or job related experience
- Previous experience in a similar role with technical knowledge in relation to energy, waste, packaging and waste
- Technical knowledge or experience in addressing environmental risks
- Exposure to NABERs, NGERS, Green Star or APCO
- Retail specific experience
