Description:
The position will play a key role in assisting to implement Caprice’s Sustainability Strategy, with focus on the Environment and Community pillars, reporting to the Sustainability Manager.
You will assist with delivery of projects and initiatives aligning with the Caprice Sustainability Strategy and drive sustainable practice awareness and commitment amongst staff.
Contributing to the Sustainability Strategy by assisting in training staff on procedural requirements, especially in the space of packaging, and playing a crucial role in completing compliance activities and reporting in the packaging and product circularity space.
You will have a broad involvement across all areas of the portfolio, with the opportunity to take initiative and lead on projects where applicable. This position can expect to be hands on to deliver initiatives and integrate sustainability principles through the business and our product offer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the efficient and effective implementation of Caprice’s Sustainability Strategy with a focus on environment and community.
- Provide support, education, and advice to staff with respect to the Caprice product and packaging range, which may include leading training and workshops.
- Assist the product teams to liaise with suppliers regarding sustainable initiatives, e.g. traceability within the supply chain, sourcing, and research.
- Assist in maintaining certifications, ensuring they are valid and up to date.
- Prepare reporting data and review against internal and regulatory requirements, ensuring compliance, with a focus on packaging, product, and more sustainable materials.
- Assist in keeping standard operating procedures up to date and fit for purpose.
- Develop strong effective relationships with relevant stakeholders, internal and external to Caprice.
Key Skills and attributes:
- Passion and enthusiasm for the principles of sustainability, the circular economy and their application in the fashion, textiles, and consumer products space.
- Tertiary qualification in fashion, textiles, or sustainability.
- Knowledge of the packaging regulatory space within Australia, APCO reporting, and the PREP platform experience would be highly regarded.
- Excellent communication and organization skills.
- Ability to research analyse and report on related topics, regulations, and requirements in Australia and abroad.
- Proficiency in Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- A keen attention to detail and strong administration skills.
- Ability to manage time and prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in a similar role highly regarded, but not essential.
