As the Sustainability Environmental Coordinator, you will play a vital role in delivering Cleanaway’s education programs to the wider community in collaboration with local Councils. This position offers an exciting opportunity to engage with schools, councils, and community groups to promote environmental education and encourage participation in waste reduction and resource recovery initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver a range of educational programs in partnership with Councils to promote environmental awareness and sustainability practices.
- Develop and adapt program content to suit diverse audiences, including preschool, primary, and secondary school students.
- Collaborate with local communities to increase engagement in waste reduction and resource recovery activities.
- Represent Cleanaway’s Centre for Sustainability at meetings, public events, and council meetings.
- Coordinate a busy work schedule, including organising events and managing program bookings.
- Ensure timely completion of regular reporting requirements.
About You:
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in waste management or environmental sustainability, experience in renewable resources education practices highly desirable.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and experience in preparing and delivering educational and digital presentations.
- Excellent time management skills and a proactive approach to event planning.
- Possession of a full driver's license and access to a car.
- Tertiary qualifications, preferably in environmental science or education-related fields, are preferred.
- Willingness to undergo a working with children’s check (assistance provided for application).
