About the role
We have an exciting new opportunity to progress AEMO’s sustainability agenda and be responsible for leading the sustainability strategic vision and ambition in accordance with the company's position and strategic sustainability objectives.
What you will be doing
In this role you will support the sustainability reporting requirements, including the development of systems and processes that enable strategic insights and the delivery of our ESG internal and external reporting suite that meets new and emerging climate disclosure and sustainability reporting requirements. This involves maintaining a wide range of projects and relationships internally and externally with the goal of demonstrating AEMO’s sustainability efforts to our customers, team members, communities, investors, industry and other key stakeholders. Additionally, you will act as a subject matter expert, providing advice to business queries as required.
What you will bring to the role
To succeed in this role, it is essential you have a strong background in corporate sustainability (or similar fields) and can proactively drive forward pieces of work to support identifying sustainability risks and opportunities for AEMO. Ideally, you are proficient in the management and delivery of projects with desired experience in sustainability. Other position requirements are as follows:
- Experience with sustainability and climate change reporting frameworks and standards.
- Demonstrated track record of management and delivery of social and environmental impact/sustainability strategies and projects in corporate environments.
- Experience with greenhouse gas emission reporting frameworks and experience with climate change risk management and scenario analysis.
- Detailed knowledge and appreciation of current social and environmental issues and trends in Australia and globally, and how to integrate this in a commercial context that builds credibility for the organisation.
- Demonstrated experience working with and delivering against key global and Australian ESG frameworks and methodologies e.g., ISSB, GRI, UN Global Compact, Climate Active Certification, TCFD.
- Relevant Tertiary qualifications or similar level of experience to demonstrate acumen in – business, sustainability, environmental science or other relevant discipline.
