About the role

As a Sweeper Operator, you will play an important role in ensuring the cleanliness of our community. Operating a mechanical pavement sweeping vehicle, you will help contribute to the overall cleanliness of Canning’s car parks, commercial precincts and streetscapes.
A snapshot of your new role:
- Operate a pavement sweeper to remove leaves, litter and debris from footpaths, car parks and streetscapes
- Manually clean and remove rubbish where the pavement sweeper cannot access
- Maintain accurate record of sweeping activities
- Conduct daily maintenance checks and identify and report maintenance issues
- Attend Pre-starts, Tool-boxes and contribute to a safe working environment
- Assist the engineering construction and maintenance teams, where required, including support of larger road sweeper operations.
Who we’re looking for
- Manual Light Rigid ‘LR’ and ‘C’ class driver’s license (MR class desirable)
- Basic Traffic Management Certificate, or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Proven ability to work unsupervised and in a team environment
- Willingness to learn new skills
- Strong initiative and able to make decisions in the field
- Current Satisfactory National Police Clearance (within 6 months validity)
