The Role:

RJE has a current opportunity for a Switchboard/MCC Design Engineer to join our large multidisciplinary team, delivering projects throughout Australia and around the world. This role is based in Adelaide, at our Manufacturing Facility in Lonsdale.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Switchboard/MCC Design Engineer will be responsible for developing detailed switchboard and MCC electrical designs that comply with Australian, client and site requirements. As part of this role, it is expected the Switchboard/MCC Design Engineer will be responsible for some of the following:

• Undertaking engineering design and drafting on distribution, motor control switchboards, control, and other panels.
• Designing electrical schematics and logic drawings using AutoCAD.
• Develop and implement standard designs in relation to LV MCCs and LV Switchboards. 
• Undertake or assist in the preparation of feasibility studies, surveys and reports, design layouts, specifications, bill of material lists.
• Reviewing and preparing detailed documentation such as reports, specifications, and drawings.
• Assist pre-contracts team with switchboard/MCC estimation and tendering.
• Perform factory testing and site commissioning activities as required.

This role requires familiarity with applicable Australian Standards, attention to detail, and a focus on producing smarter engineering solutions.

Required:

• Familiarity with current Australian and switchboard standards, AS/NZS 61439, AS 3000 and other relevant standards.
• Switchboard design experience.
• AutoCAD drafting experience.
• Great attention to detail.
• Willing to learn with an adaptable, flexible & positive attitude.
• Excellent communication skills.

Advantageous:

• Construction industry white card.
• Experience with Cubic (or other) software packages.
• Experience with estimating and tendering.
