Seeking multiple System Administrators to join a large Federal Government Department
Your new company
Your new department protects Australia's natural environment and heritage sites, as well as helping Australia respond to climate change and carefully manage our water and energy resources. The department was established to deliver on the government's climate change and energy agenda, and protect Australia's environment and water resources.
Your new role
As the System Administrator you will be responsible for a wide range of tasks aimed at maintaining, optimising, and securing the technology systems that support the department's operations. You will work within a project to move the daprtatment's ICT services from the current shared services model to a service fully managed internal to the department. The program aims to transition and enhance the department's ICT infrastructure, processes, and service delivery models to ensure they meet strategic objectives and operational requirements.
What you'll need to succeedAs the successful candidate, you will have demonstrated experience and ability in:
- Proficiency in various aspects of IT infrastructure, including:
- Operating systems (e.g., Windows, Linux, Unix, Wintel).
- Networking protocols and technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
- Server administration (e.g., Active Directory, Exchange Server, virtualisation platforms).
- Database management systems (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle).
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills and demonstrated ability to engage with a variety of internal and external stakeholders including non-technical Senior Managers.
- Proven ability to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams of business, technology, external suppliers and other subject-matter experts.
