PRIMARY OBJECTIVE
Responsible for making timely and competent decisions to meet the generation and market operations requirements of the power
system within operating parameters of the Generation, Transmission and Distribution systems within the Northern Territory.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The “WHAT” to be delivered
Technical
Monitor and dispatch generation to meet system security, market operations, reliability, safety and efficiency
requirements.
Respond to system emergencies; formulate system restoration strategies and contingency plans.
Record system information in the daily log, report on system operations and abnormalities to relevant stakeholders; assist
in the development/maintenance of instructions/procedures and compile statistical information.
Provide support and relief to the Senior System Controller and the Assistant System Controller.
Leadership
Provide guidance, support and mentoring to trainees and other team members.

3. The remuneration package amounts published for this position include base, fixed allowances, superannuation, the value of
one extra week’s annual leave. Other discretionary allowances may apply however are not included in the advertised
remuneration range. Where the position is eligible for an Annualised Salary in accordance with the relevant Determination, the
amounts published will also include fixed rates for shift, overtime and public holidays, plus responsibility allowance where
relevant.
Commencing salary: $172,079 inclusive of base salary, Industry Specific Skill Allowance, Consolidated Disability Allowance, and
Operator Annualised Allowance.
