Systems Administrator

Get to know the Role

An opportunity has become available for an experienced Systems Administrator to join our highly motivated Infrastructure team. 

The successful person will be responsible for assisting the Infrastructure Manager by developing and supporting best practice ICT Infrastructure Services:

Duties

• Resolve technical incidents and/or liaise with specialist external technical partners in an efficient and effective manner to get the desired business outcomes
• Oversee that regular backups are functioning and tested as working in line with overall business BCP objectives
• Support, install and maintain both physical and virtual infrastructure both on-prem and in cloud based platforms
• Monitor, maintain and advise on all national networking and critical infrastructure;
• Managing and maintaining infrastructure support contracts for vendor & specialist technical partners;
• Keeping abreast of emerging network, cloud and other service technologies as well as making recommendations in line with the current business requirements;
• Ensure that critical systems and sites remain secure and align to current security standards;
• Ensure that backup solutions are adequate and relevant to business BCP requirements

Skills and Experience

• Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline, i.e., Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
• Prior experience working as a Systems/Network Administrator.
• Experience with Microsoft 365 and Azure Administration.
• Experience in networking, routing, and switching.
• Strong skills in Microsoft Enterprise products.
• Strong VMWare experience.
• Experience with Enterprise SAN administration is desirable.
• Demonstrated ability to organize and manage a diverse range of systems & hardware.
• Strong attention to detail and critical thinking ability.
• Exceptional time management and ability to prioritise tasks.
• The ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
• Be willing to learn and adapt.
