This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Systems Administrator to take on a pivotal role within the Information Technology (IT) team at Legal Aid Queensland.
The IT team is responsible for the development, operation and support of all information systems and related technologies across LAQ. The area has the responsibility for the development and support of all corporate wide business applications and the associated underlying information technology infrastructure, including a state wide data telecommunications network.
The Systems Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day administration of LAQ's IT infrastructure and data network.
In this role you will:
- Provide second and third level support and maintenance of LAQ's system and network infrastructure
- Participate in a team of technical specialists to undertake the development, configuration and implementation of new initiatives and solutions within a large ICT environment
- Undertake change management activities associated with infrastructure provisioning
- Research and provide advice in the continuous improvement of existing IT infrastructure and evaluation of new and emerging technologies
- Understand client's business drivers and contribute to client relationships by assisting in the performance analysis of infrastructure environments and making recommendations for improvement
- Provide feedback to clients regarding the status of problems and service requests to ensure that agreed service levels and client service standards are achieved
- Liaise effectively with clients, multi-disciplinary technology groups and external stakeholders on enterprise infrastructure matters
- Maintain knowledge of current trends, industry and technology directions and product road maps for enterprise infrastructure technology, while also monitoring Operating System and Application update and release cycles in a Microsoft environment.
- Implement, maintain and support communication and server related software and hardware infrastructure for the LAQ network
- Manage the upgrade of servers including maintenance of hardware and software
