The Systems Engineer executes the Systems Engineering Program of an allocated program within technical, cost and schedule constraints.
As the Systems Engineer, you can anticipate some of your day-to-day tasks to include:
- Implement a requirements-driven engineering program, including requirements definition, allocation, decomposition and acceptance test procedures over the engineering lifecycle;
- Update and maintain assigned Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) items, including Sub-System Design Descriptions, System and Sub-system Specifications;
- Coordinate the development of material for the delivery of Mandated System Reviews (SRR, SDR, PDR, DDR);
- Report progress and challenges of Systems Engineering activities against technical, schedule and cost requirements;
- Develop and maintain an effective relationships with various program stakeholders, including internal stakeholders, suppliers and the CoA;
- Support coordination of Systems Engineering (including Specialty Engineering) activities and prioritisation between the Australian and German engineering teams;
- Refine/update existing planning data related to Systems Engineering scope, including basis of estimates, work breakdown structure and schedule; and
- Support engineering oversight of subcontractors and/or suppliers work scope to ensure successful delivery.

The experience and skillset best suited to this role includes:
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant Engineering field i.e. Mechanical, Electrical etc;
- Extensive industry experience within a Mechanical and Electrical engineering environment;
- Experience with C4I (Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance);
- Strong understanding of Verification and Validation (V&V) including, test conductance and issues management;
- Knowledge of Systems Engineering Standards (EIA-632 or ISO/IEC 15288;
- Have excellent written English communication skills;
- Demonstrated experience in the Systems Engineering lifecycle;
- Ability to travel interstate and/or internationally when required; and
- Currently hold or be eligible to obtain a NV1 Australian Security Clearance.
