You, along with the existing team, will be responsible for the delivery of connection studies in PSS/E, PSCAD and PowerFactory for new generation infrastructure connections to the NEM.Some of your accountabilities include:
- Leads project teams and other employees associated with power system modelling, analysis and performance assessment.
- Develops broader team capability in the area of renewable and hybrid systems by providing coaching and mentoring.
- Keeps abreast of evolving, contemporary and proven technologies and solutions, and provides intelligence and expert opinion on the relevance and adoption of new technologies and systems associated with energy infrastructure, and the maintenance of existing, products and services as part of Yurika’s market offering.
- Initiate and approve complex engineering reports and technical documentation involving a considerable degree of originality, ingenuity, and judgement and provide expert engineering advice in the area of Power Systems analysis and performance assessment, including, but not limited to, renewable and hybrid systems, as input into the construction of energy infrastructure projects and energy and utility services products made available competitively into the national market.
- Lead and/or undertake generator connection and planning studies in PSS/E, PSCAD and PowerFactory. The studies include, statics, dynamics and power quality.
- Initiate and coordinate stakeholder engagement for appropriate planning and design input to complete connection studies on time and within budget.
- Responsible for ensuring designs and any associated design information is completed in accordance with internal and external customer's requirements, design standards on time and within budget.
- Responsible for development and implementation of procedures, processes and systems to obtain the required performance and productivity, including the preparation of model scripting, where required.
- Responsible for collecting, recording, processing and analysing information in an accurate and timely manner.
- Provide technical advisory and support services to Yurika’s clients, stakeholders and service providers.
- You have previous experience with a minimum of four years as a Power Systems Engineer in a consultancy, TNSP, DNSP or EPC.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering acceptable for membership of Institution of Engineers Australia in the Professional Engineering category
- Registration as Professional Engineer Queensland (RPEQ)
- You have a demonstrated understanding of the NEM and an up-to-date knowledge of the associated rules and regulations.
- You have working experience across PSS/E, PSCAD and/or Powerfactory software.
