The TCP Youth Worker role requires a collaborative approach and works directly with children and young people, families, Case Managers and other Youth Workers within the program.
We're seeking two compassionate, organised and adaptable individuals, dedicated to making a positive impact on the lives of vulnerable children.
The TCP Youth Worker is responsible for providing active outreach, intensive support, and crisis management, as well as assisting in supporting and achieving the goals of the Targeted Care Package, assisting in advocacy and providing guidance to ensure the well-being and safety of children remains paramount.
The position is CASUAL and based on rostered work including (at times) weekend and after hours.
Expected commencing salary of $41.46 to $46.34 per hour (depending on qualification) plus statutory superannuation. Because MASP is a non-profit organisation, you also have the option to maximise your income through salary packaging.
Essential role-specific skills, knowledge, and experience
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Community Services, Social Science, or other relevant tertiary studies, or enrolment upon commencement.
- Demonstrated experience and skills in working with young people and families with challenging behaviours and social and emotional difficulties.
- An understanding of the developmental and therapeutic needs of young people who have experienced trauma, abuse and neglect.
- Working knowledge of out-of-home care, child protection legislation and systems.
- Understanding of childhood development.
- Understanding of the behaviour management strategies and ability to implement these interventions as outlined in the client planning.
- Ability to work within the program guidelines, including the ability to adequately assess young people’s needs and develop, evaluate and vary plans in relation to those needs.
Highly desirable role-specific skills, knowledge, and experience
- Experience in a not for profit / charitable organisation.
