Tax & Business Services - Senior / Assistant Manager

Cornerman is a Chartered Firm providing bespoke CFO, Taxation and Advisory services to a select group of clients. Due to the continued request for our services, we now require a full time Business Services Senior or Assistant Manager.

This role is suited to an accounting professional that is seeking a diverse and challenging role.  Joining our Business Services Team, you will be an integral part of ensuring that all our clients’ taxation and business needs are delivered in a timely and accurate manner.  Additionally, you will be mentoring and assisting in the development of our less experienced team members.

For this role you will be working in a team that is hungry to bring on more work and support our existing clients in achieving their dreams.

Key deliverables for this role include:

• Preparation and peer review of all taxation obligations, including Income Tax, Business Activity Statements, Fringe Benefits etc
• Preparation of year end Financial Statements and interim Management Accounts
• Preparation of year end Tax Planning reports, providing commentary and various scenarios for client consideration
• Identify and proactively improve tax and accounting related processes and controls for efficiency and risk mitigation.
• Build relationships within our team of 50+ providing guidance and advice in accounting and taxation technical matters and general professional standards.
• Build strong relationships with clients to provide guidance and coaching in relation to tax law and compliance.
• Take the lead in assigned projects.
• Assist with the development of team members.

This role is ideally suited to an experienced accounting professional with the following:

• Tertiary qualifications with CA/CPA complete, or near completion
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Professional Firm, working with clients that turnover up to $100M
• Strong experience in the preparation of Financial Statements and Income Tax Returns for Companies, Trusts, Partnerships and Individuals.  SMSF would be advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of Australian Taxation Law, Reporting and Obligations, including Income Tax, GST, PAYG Withholding and FBT
• Sound understanding of changes to relevant tax laws, industry trends and emerging technology
• Experience in developing processes and controls
• Ability to interpret information, extract meaningful insights, and evaluate options for decision making
• Exceptional communication skills 
• Highest level of ethical standards

This is a full time role located at Surry Hills, to ensure the whole team benefits.  Options to work 1 day per week remotely will be considered upon completion of 6 months.
