About the Role:
As a Tax Manager, you will be part of the Finance team. The role will center around the Group’s tax compliance, lodgment, and reporting obligations. You will help the business grow by identifying tax issues, responsibility for UK tax reporting, and tax effect accounting calculations and systems for the Group.
Reporting
- Tax effect accounting including quarterly reconciliation of current tax provision and current and deferred tax balance sheet accounts.
- Preparation of quarterly tax reporting packs to UK head office
- Cash tax forecasting
- Preparation of tax notes for financial statements
- Liaise with external auditors on tax issues.
- Identify, provide clear advice to internal stakeholders on complex taxation issues, changes in legislation and administrative decisions that impact the business as relevant.
- Research and provide advice/recommendations on the tax implications of non-standard transactions.
- Work with relevant internal stakeholders to implement and improve end-to-end tax process and procedures.
Compliance
- Review annual income tax returns.
- Manage the preparation and filing of FBT returns.
- Manage the preparation and filing of BAS returns and activity statements.
- Manage the preparation and filing of Stamp duty requirements.
- Co-ordinate with payroll team on Payroll tax requirements
- Liaise with external tax advisors on technical and compliance issues.
- Liaise with ATO and State revenue offices.
- Monitor withholding tax obligations.
About you:
- 3 - 5-year related experience post CA/CPA/CTA qualified, preferably within an insurance or financial services operation
- Experience with tax consolidations, management of tax compliance obligations and SGE requirements.
- Knowledge of tax effect accounting principles.
- Computer literacy – Word, Advanced Excel, Power BI and ERP software.
- Strong communication (written and oral) interpersonal skills to deal with multiple stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and project management skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Professionalism and confidence.
- Flexible, adaptable and ability to work under pressure.
