Position Information
Baradine Central School is a small inclusive K-12 school in a rural community with a proud heritage approaching its 150th year. BCS promotes agricultural studies for both secondary and primary students with extensive school farm operations and community support. The school has its own small Santa Gertrudis cattle stud for students to exhibit stock at local PA&H shows plus a small commercial herd of angus/limousin breeders that generates stock for hoof and hook competitions. The farm also boasts a Texel sheep stud with progeny successfully exhibited by students at shows.
The school features diverse educational opportunities and outstanding resources. There is a very dedicated and caring staff with a range of experiences. There are approximately 120 enrolments, with 60% in secondary and 40% in primary. 55% students identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.
Selection Criteria
  • Approval to teach Agriculture.
  • Ability to differentiate programs and learning to meet the needs of a diverse range of learners.
  • Abilities and initiative to perform duties associated with managing a teaching farm.
  • Well developed interpersonal, communication and organisational skills with capacity to engage with community.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to the Departments Aboriginal Education policies.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
Special Notes
Successful applicants may be eligible to a relocation of up to $8,000.
