This position sits within the AgSTEM FTE allocation within Richmond Agricultural College. The College has two campuses – Richmond HS and the Centre of Excellence in Agricultural Education. Richmond HS is responsible for delivering educational programs to its mainstream and support stream students and delivers 0.4 of the AgSTEM Selective and AgSTEM Specialty educational programs. The Centre of Excellence is responsible for delivering educational programs to the College’s AgSTEM Selective and AgSTEM Specialty streams and delivers 0.6 of the AgSTEM programs on its campus. AgSTEM students in Years 7-10 spend 3 days a week at the Centre of Excellence campus and 2 days a week at the Richmond HS campus.
This position is substantive to the Richmond HS campus but is a College position. The 2024 allocation for AgSTEM delivery of Agriculture/Primary Industries is (1.0 FTE) at the Centre of Excellence Campus. In 2024, seven AgSTEM classes will operate in the College, engaging in a transdisciplinary, partnered learning curriculum. In 2024, student enrolment will be capped at 210 students across Years 7 to 10, with a full capacity of students up to 600 college students when at full operation.
The Centre currently operates from TAFE/WSU facilities on the Hawkesbury campus, awaiting the move into our purpose built facility. The Centre also delivers high quality, transdisciplinary AgSTEM programs utilising design thinking and partnered learning experiences to students K-12 across NSW and teacher professional learning. The successful candidate in this role will have access to engagement in these programs. Richmond HS currently delivers programs to students in Stages 4-6 to a population of approximately 700 students, With 13% of the student body identifying as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander.

Approval to teach Agriculture.
Approval to teach or preparedness to undertake VET teacher training in (VPG) Primary Industries-General Agriculture and (VPH) Primary Industries-Horticulture providing the qualification entry benchmark is met.
Capacity to deliver innovative, effective, engaging and differentiated teaching programs to meet a diverse range of student learning needs in a comprehensive and transdisciplinary environment.
Demonstrated capacity to partner with parents, students, the broader educational sector, industry and community, ensuring up to date and innovative agricultural and STEM learning opportunities for comprehensive, AgSTEM selective and specialty students.
Proven capacity to work effectively as a team member in a comprehensive or integrated transdisciplinary learning environment.
Proven capacity to deliver vocational education programs connected to the Agricultural industry.
Willingness and capacity to support whole school programs that promote student engagement, wellbeing and belonging.
Willingness to deliver whole school programs such as, but not limited to, Show Teams, Agricultural industry/community events and conference workshops to maximise outcomes for a diverse range of learners.
Demonstrated ability to differentiate learning and provide a safe and inclusive learning environment for comprehensive and HPGE Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.
