Rockingham Beach Education Support Centre (ESC) is seeking to establish a pool of passionate and dedicated Education Support Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2024 school year and up to the end of Term 4, 2025. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2024 school year, up to the end of Term 4, 2025.
The Rockingham Beach community believes that all students can learn and develop skills across all curriculum areas and that all students' social, emotional, physical, and educational development is best facilitated when parents, teachers, specialists, and therapists work together as partners. As a teacher at Rockingham Beach ESC, suitable applicants will ideally embrace our whole school vision of 'Building bright futures for our families' and our entire school instructional programs of Talk 4 Writing, Read Write Inc., Zones of Regulation, PATHS, Protective Behaviours and Positive Behaviour Support. Experience in using explicit instruction strategies is highly desirable.
Suitable applicants will ideally be genuine innovators who are prepared to be flexible and can meet diverse needs and learning styles in a mixed ability and multi-age classroom setting. Teachers should be able to manage class teams and liaise with parents and therapists to meet our students' educational and care needs.
Rockingham Beach ESC, an independent public school, is committed to delivering educational programs supported by regular excursions and a yearly school camp. In addition to specialist art, science and life skills education programs, students can access specialist swimming lessons, dance instruction and extracurricular activities. If you are looking for a teaching role that enables you to work in a friendly and supportive environment where you are encouraged to express your flair, Rockingham Beach ESC is the school for you.
Vacancies may arise during the life of this pool that require specialist qualifications (for example vacancies within Early Childhood Education). Only applicants, in the pool, possessing the required qualifications will be considered for appointment in these circumstances.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.
Applications will be assessed against these domains. The business needs of the school may also be considered. It is therefore recommended that you consider all information contained in the advertisement and any other related information before applying for the vacancy.
Applicants currently completing the Department of Education Leap program (formerly known as the Switch program) can apply for vacancies using their current or Leap qualification - even if they have not completed the program at the time of applying. Applicants may be appointed to a vacancy based on the qualification being completed via the Leap program.
The Department is an equal opportunity employer and encourages people with disability, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and persons from culturally diverse backgrounds to apply.
