Roseworth Education Support Centre (ESC) is seeking to establish a pool for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2024 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2024 school year.
Suitable applicants should be committed to making a difference in the lives of young people. They should also be motivated, practical, hardworking, innovative and possess outstanding interpersonal skills. Suitable applicants should pursue excellence in classroom teaching, in particular when working with students with high needs. Suitable applicants will ideally make student achievement the core of their work. Additionally, a positive attitude and an appetite for challenge are desired. You should also possess excellent classroom practice, focusing on innovation and classroom management based on positive partnerships between students, education assistants, teachers, and parents.
We teach students from Kindergarten to Year 6. We are a Level 3 facility catering for students with diagnosed disabilities, such as Intellectual Disability, High Needs Autism and Trisomy 21.
It would be advantageous for the suitable applicants to have the ability to cope well with frequent unpredictability and flexible enough to adapt to the changing needs of the students. You should have a strong team spirit and ability to collaborate with all staff members. It would be advantageous to be proficient in Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA), Discrete Trial Training (DTT), Direct Instruction (DI), and Treatment and Education of Autistic and related Communication-handicapped Children (TEACCH).
We are on the same site as Roseworth Primary School in Girrawheen and offer a range of modern facilities including a covered outdoor playground/classroom that can be used in all weather. This is a great space to teach play and social skills. We also have a Sensory Room where the students can work on aspects of their Sensory Profile.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit prior to commencement of employment
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
- meet the Department of Education
- complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment and every three years thereafter;
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
