Morawa District High School (DHS) is seeking a Health and Physical Education (HPE) Teacher to join their high quality regional school.

Teachers and school administrators employed at Morawa District High School in 2024 are eligible to receive an of $5,000 (pa, gross – to be adjusted pro rata for FTE and tenure). Eligible staff will receive a percentage of this payment on commencement at the school, with the remainder paid at the end of the school year. Staff must remain employed in the location until the end of the school year to be eligible to receive the second payment.
The ARI payment is in addition to other incentives that may apply in this school.
About the role
The successful applicant will ideally be highly motivated, innovative, and enthusiastic in the promotion of Health and Physical Education within the school and will be responsible for the coordination and organisation of school sporting events, as well as teaching some Science classes. You should be well organised, motivated, and committed to developing positive relationships and have high expectations for all students.
Knowledge and competency in the Health and Physical Education component of the Western Australian (WA) Curriculum and reporting schedule is highly desirable. The ability to teach Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) Physical Education Studies and/or Outdoor Education is also highly desirable.
Our School
Morawa DHS is an Independent Public School with a student population of approximately 210, with approximately 40% Aboriginal students, providing a strong, sustainable education from Kindergarten to Year 12. This allows students to live and learn in a safe rural setting, with a stimulating and differentiated learning environment, encouraging all our students to be fully engaged and motivated to excel.
Students in Year 11 and Year 12 have a flexible senior school programme, with the school endeavouring to meet the needs of all students by employing a mixed mode of delivery. i.e. a combination of SIDE and face to face subjects and classes with Staff. Both Vocational Education and Training (VET) and Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) courses are offered. ATAR/General and Foundation English and Maths subjects are offered face to face.
