Position Information
Marsden High School (1166 students including an Intensive English Centre enrolment of 120 and a Support Unit of 20 students) is a vibrant and culturally diverse learning community which promotes high expectations for all students and encourages engagement in academic, sporting, creative and community service pursuits. Focus areas within the school include future-focused learning, student wellbeing, technology, and innovative transition pathways. Marsden is a Positive Behaviour for Learning school with a whole school emphasis on literacy, numeracy, HPGE enrichment, differentiated learning and leadership. Our dedicated and professional teachers provide authentic leadership and support to motivate and empower each student to strive for excellence in a creative and collaborative environment. There is also strong community support as the school experiences growth in enrolment with the recent move into a new build within the Meadowbank Education and Employment Precinct.
Selection Criteria
- Approval to teach History (Years 7-10), Modern History (Years 11-12) and History Extension (Year 12).
- Demonstrated the capacity to work collaboratively with colleagues as part of a HSIE faculty to plan, deliver and differentiate highly effective teaching and learning programs to engage and inspire students while meeting their diverse learning needs.
- Demonstrated ability to use planned, strategic and effective classroom management practices to build high expectations relationships and create a positive learning culture.
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with demonstrated capacity to establish and maintain positive working relationships with students, staff and parents.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
