Appointment Pool
Falcon Primary School is seeking to establish a pool of Primary Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2024 school year and up to the end of Term 1, 2024. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2024 school year, up to the end of Term 1, 2025.
Suitable applicants will ideally display highly effective teaching practices and a willingness to seek constant improvement. Suitable applicants should have highly developed professional and practical knowledge in Primary curriculum, the ability to cater to multi age groups and have highly refined classroom management skills. Experience and successful outcomes working with students with special educational needs and students with challenging behaviours is highly recommended. The ability to develop good relationships with students and engage them in highly effective learning is also highly regarded in this role.
Experience with Explicit Instruction, Talk 4 Writing, Letters and Sounds, Soundwaves or other Literacy intervention programs would be highly regarded.
The suitable applicants will ideally have flexibility in teaching across Primary phases and a commitment to personal and professional growth. The suitable applicants should ideally exhibit high standards of professionalism and embrace opportunities for collaboration with the proven ability to work in team environments.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
  • provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
  • consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit prior to commencement of employment
  • obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
  • meet the Department of Education
requirements; * complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
  • complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment and every three years thereafter;
  • complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement; and
  • complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
