Appointment Pool

Richmond Primary School (PS) is seeking to establish a pool of Primary Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2024 school year and up to the end of Term 2, 2025. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2024 school year, up to the end of Term 2, 2025.

We are seeking dedicated and enthusiastic teachers who can work in collaboration with others to plan, deliver and assess effective curriculum across the school. Suitable applicants should have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, be highly motivated and practise current pedagogy. The ability to differentiate the curriculum to meet each student at their point of need is highly desirable. Applicants who specialise in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics) or Digital Technologies are encouraged to apply.

Experience in the following will also be highly regarded; Whole School Programs, Prime Maths, T4W & Seven Steps to writing, Letters & Sounds, Hegarty PA program, Sounds Write, High Impact Teaching strategies and Positive Behaviours (PBS). Vacancies may arise during the life of this pool that require specialist qualifications (for example vacancies within Early Childhood Education). Only applicants, in the pool, possessing the required qualifications will be considered for appointment in these circumstances.

• Professional knowledge;
• Professional practice; and
• Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY

Employees will be required to:

• provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
• consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit prior to commencement of employment
• obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
• meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration requirements;
• complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
• complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment and every three years thereafter;
• complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement; and
• complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.

The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
