Permanent and Contract (Terms 3 and 4) positions available
Townsville Grammar School is one of the original Grammar Schools of Queensland. The Year 7-12 campus is located on the original site at North Ward. The School also operates two Junior School campuses, both offering Pre-Prep to Year 6, at Annandale and North Shore.
Townsville Grammar School is a co-educational, non-denominational School with a current enrolment of approximately 1250 students, including 125 boarders (7-12), of whom approximately 25 are international students.
As one of the eight original Grammar schools in Queensland, Townsville Grammar School was established in 1888 and has offered boarding since this time. The School has a long-standing reputation as the leading academic school in Northern Queensland, also offering the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme for Years 11 and 12.
We currently have both permanent and contract (Terms 3 and 4) opportunities for dedicated Teachers (Primary) to work at our Annandale campus commencing Term 3 2024. A relevant teaching qualification, QCT Registration and significant Primary School teaching experience is mandatory.
Additionally, our ideal candidates will:
- Be able to develop, plan and deliver effective, high-quality learning experiences to our students, with a collaborative approach to teaching and learning.
- Have the ability to adapt teaching methods to cater to a variety of learning styles and student needs.
- Be capable of inspiring students through a passion for the subject, and a genuine belief in the potential of all students.
- Have demonstrated competence in classroom management.
- Be committed to the aims and ethos of independent Schools and be willing to participate in the co-curricular and pastoral life of the School.
It is a requirement of these roles to attend the following School functions: Meet and Greet functions; Parent-Teacher Nights; Speech Day; Open Night; Subject Information Nights; School Camps; Sports Carnivals; Cultural Performances and other events as deemed necessary from time to time by the Principal.
