Are you looking for a teaching career that really makes a difference?An exciting opportunity exists for highly skilled, innovative and experienced English teacher to join the Brisbane Youth Education and Training Centre.BYETC students have diverse learning needs and a significant majority have had disrupted or negative schooling experiences. We seek to address this by supporting students to close individual learning gaps and attain vocational skills leading to qualifications. We prioritise supporting students to develop language skills, foster positive behaviours and social skills and cultivate pathways.The school leadership team is united in the commitment to implement an improvement agenda underpinned by the school vision statement of 'Learning and achieving through respect, responsibility and resilience to optimise results.'BYETC is a Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) school and has a teaching and learning philosophy based on high yield teaching strategies, common teaching practices and a teams-based approach. A high priority is given to developing teacher capacity through collegial engagement practices.In addition to the amazing opportunity of joining this dedicated team, we also offer a great work-life balance via flexible work arrangements.In order to maintain engagement of students across the year and address learning gaps, funding is approved for education delivery over 48 weeks of the year. This brings Queensland into alignment with youth detention schools in other States and Territories across Australia. The employment entitlements for staff will remain unchanged, providing an exciting opportunity for some flexible work agreements. Through negotiation with the Principal, the successful applicant will determine whether a regular or alternative school holiday model is accessed.Experience in vocational training and a current TAE40116 qualification will be highly regarded.

* Current full registration or current provisional registration with eligibility for full registration, as a teacher in Queensland. * In addition to registration, teachers working in Education and Care Services (including State Delivered Kindergarten programs) require an exemption card issued by Blue Card Services. For more information on blue cards and exemption cards, please CLICK HERE.
* Employment for pre-service/graduate teachers will be subject to the successful completion of a relevant teaching qualification and meeting the minimum requirements as a teacher with the department
