Job description
The Service Improvement Support team collaborates with frontline Youth Justice staff to design, implement and enhance the services they deliver. The objective of our work is to ensure that Youth Justice Service and Detention Centres:
Deliver high-quality, evidence-informed service responses.
Continually enhance and sustain their programs and services, with the support of the broader organisation.
Demonstrate the positive change they are affecting in the lives of young people.
Expand the evidence-base on programs and services effective for the Queensland context.
Are partners in innovative system, community and service level initiatives.
As Principal Program Officer, you will specifically:
Lead service review processes which support and facilitate continuous improvement of Youth Justice services. This includes facilitating workshops, supporting front-line staff to understand data trends, the evidence-base, and collaboratively develop local and system-level action to generate change, as well as generate reports to formalise findings.
Build positive connections (internally and externally) that diversify and expand the thinking, resources and investment base in youth justice.
Identify, research, and analyse complex youth justice issues and lead or support the development and implementation of evidence-informed solutions.
Build and sustain organisational understanding and capacity to deliver a core suite of evidence-informed programs and services.
Proactively partner with other departmental and government staff to provide authoritative and strategic advice on issues relating to young people and their families, departmental change-oriented programs and services, and system reform required to enable high quality and effective programs and services.
