Proudly located in the Queanbeyan Network of Schools, Bungendore High School opened for the first time in 2023 for Years 7 and 8 on a temporary site while the permanent location is being built. The school will grow by one year group each year until we have our full complement of Year 7 to 12. In 2024, we have Years 7, 8 and 9. Located 40 kms from Canberra in a rapidly growing rural area, it is a short distance from Canberra International airport and a short drive to the South Coast or Snowy Mountains.
Bungendore High School will have modern facilities with 24 flexible learning spaces, including three supported learning classes, accommodating more than 450 students from Years 7 to 12. Situated in close proximity to the primary school, the school will provide an inclusive, responsive and supportive environment that allows each individual to develop to their potential.
The school is conscious of its role within the local community and in the society in which it operates, working closely with other community agencies to support student academic, emotional and social development. Innovative facilities across the campus will provide opportunities to work with community to enhance the curriculum for students through the provision of extracurricular activities. The school builds teacher capacity to promote and develop agreed values, positive behaviours and success in all students.
