Lavington East Public School (LEPS), located in the northeastern part of Lavington, welcomes around 285 students, representing a diverse community from 12 different countries, including Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Uganda, and India. With a focus on nurturing individual potential, the school offers 14 classes—organised by stage groupings—that include three specialised support unit classes (two Multicategorical and one Autism-specific) to cater to the varied needs of our students. Among our students, 13% identify as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, and 23% as students from a language background other than English (LBOTE), reflecting our rich cultural diversity.
The school's motto, 'Every student matters, every moment counts – Learning for Life!' highlights our commitment to providing a supportive and enriching learning and personal growth environment. Our active Parents and Citizens (P&C) committee plays a crucial role in supporting our school community. As a member of our School Support Unit team, you'll contribute to a supportive environment, prioritising the success and wellbeing of complex learners and their families. Our dedicated staff benefits from a collaborative atmosphere, with opportunities for professional development through weekly Teacher Learning Community sessions, Teaching Sprints, and tailored professional learning based on our School Improvement Plan.
Approval to teach special education and/or experience teaching students with complex needs such as emotional disturbance, mild/moderate intellectual disabilities, autism, and behavioural difficulties.

Highly developed communication, interpersonal and organisational skills that contribute to a culture of inclusivity, with the ability to proactively engage with students, colleagues, parents/carers, school learning support officers, external agencies, and the wider school community.
