The Hills Sports High School is a comprehensive coeducational Years 7-12 school with an elite sporting stream and a total enrolment of 950 students, 5% from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander background. The school caters for both local students and those enrolled in the Talented Sports Program. It is committed to a learning culture that values academic and sporting excellence. A support unit caters for a total of 47 students. Extensive partnerships exist with community organisations and associations.
The school has a dedicated staff focused on quality teaching and the use of technology to support learning. The school is implementing the Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) program and teachers are also currently focusing on embedding formative assessment and differentiation strategies into teaching and learning programs and practices. The recent refurbishment of the TAS facility provides outstanding resources for teachers to implement high quality courses including STEM.
Selection CriteriaApproval to teach Technology Mandatory (7-8) and Industrial Technology - Timber
Demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively and contribute positively to the TAS faculty.
Proven ability to manage practical spaces to ensure student safety, full participation and high levels of engagement in lessons.
ConditionsApplicants are to include details of their WWCC clearance number as part of this application.
