Cire Services Incorporated is a uniquely 'local' not-for-profit (NFP) organisation. Cire is one of the largest NFPs serving the Yarra Ranges' diverse population and recently established itself in the City of Casey.
Cire Services provides flexible learning opportunities, education and training and a depth and breadth of community programs and services to help meet the needs of people of all ages. Our core services include:
- Our Community School, a registered independent school, providing upper primary and secondary curriculum to disengaged students in an alternative school environment;
- Cire Early Learning, supporting children's services for long day-care, pre-school programs, occasional care, vacation care and before and after school care;
- Cire Training, our Registered Training Organisation (RTO), offering accredited, pre-accredited, work skills and leisure courses; and
- Our Community Hubs, bringing people together to connect, learn and contribute in their local community through social, educational, recreational and support activities.
About the role
Cire Community School is a leader in delivering innovative programs to students from Early Prep to Year 12 who have disengaged from education and offers an alternative to mainstream schooling.
Due to significant growth and demand within the Monbulk and Yarra Junction Campuses we are seeking new Teachers to join our team to support some of the most vulnerable and marginalised young people within the region.
This position will teach core subjects, as well as contributing to the operations and development of the Community School.
Reporting to the Campus Principal, our Teachers support students to re-engage with education through the development and delivery of dynamic and engaging learning materials and activities. Working closely with wellbeing specialists and learning assistants, Teachers support our students in achieving positive learning outcomes and pathways to further education and employment.
About you
As a Teacher at Cire Community School, you:
- Are a qualified and experienced teacher with current VIT registration
- Have experience working within a VCAL program (preferred)
- Are passionate about working with young people who have disengaged from mainstream education
- Are experienced in working with classes ranging from years 5 to 12, utilising your skills in a wide variety of subject areas
- Have the ability to support students to re-engage with their education and the passion to persist despite any obstacles
- Have the ability to form unconditional and positive relationships with young people and demonstrate flexibility and adaptability on a daily basis
- Have a thorough understanding of Child Safe frameworks and regulations and the ability to apply these effectively
- Are willing to undertake certifications including a national police check
