SEEKING TEACHERS and EDUCATORS TO DEVELOP AND PRESENT WORKSHOPS FOR GIFTED CHILDREN
G.A.T.E.WAYS is seeking educators to design and present maths and / or science workshops for primary school students.
G.A.T.E.WAYS was established in 1994 and runs programs servicing the needs of high potential and gifted and talented primary-aged students.
Workshops extend and challenge high-ability children beyond the school curriculum, providing an opportunity for them to think, collaborate and learn with like-minded peers.
About our Programs:
We run day-long programs during which students from various schools attend two half-day workshops. As a presenter you would be required to develop and teach 2 x half day workshops, one for lower primary years and the other for upper primary years. The program travels to various host schools in metropolitan Sydney.
About the role:
As a G.A.T.E.WAYS presenter, you are required to:
- Be a passionate and skilled maths and/or science educator.
- Have a broad-ranging and deep knowledge in your area of expertise.
- Create and deliver workshops which provide depth, complexity, and rigorous content, and which will develop children’s knowledge, understanding and skills.
- Be knowledgeable about the special needs and requirements of gifted children, and committed to seeing these needs met.
- Be an excellent communicator with the ability to engage easily and effectively with children (K-6).
- Be fluent in both spoken and written English.
G.A.T.E.WAYS presenters:
- Are not required to report or administer assessment tasks.
- Are part of a fabulous team of interesting, enthusiastic individuals.
- Are valued by parents, teachers and the children themselves for your creative and inspiring workshops.
G.A.T.E.WAYS requires you to:
- Design 2 x half day workshops with the assistance of the G.A.T.E.WAYS team.
- Deliver the workshops at a number of different schools each term.
- Prepare/provide your own teaching materials, resources and equipment.

Requirements:
- A current Working With Children Check (WWCC) number.
- Experience teaching or educating children.
Conditions:
- This is sessional work and we engage presenters as contractors on a per program basis.
- There is no full-time or permanent part-time work.
