Catholic Schools NSW (CSNSW) represents NSW Catholic schools and their owners to the media, government and other education sector stakeholders. Catholic Schools in NSW educate approximately one in five NSW students.
Under its Constitution, CSNSW acts as the overarching entity for the purposes of advancing education and religion in Catholic schools in NSW and ensures that Catholic schools meet their compliance requirements and can measure their activities in such a way as to maximize the education and faith outcomes of students. The company’s constitution is also backed by canonical mandates of delegation from each of the 11 diocesan bishops in New South Wales who are also the members of the Company.
Employees of CSNSW provide advice to Government, Catholic School Agencies and Schools on the full range of educational policy and compliance drivers impacting contemporary NSW schooling.
Primary Purpose of the role
The Team Assistant (TA) provides diverse administrative support to the Deputy Chief Executive Officer (DCEO) and other team members of the business units which report to this position.
This is a full time position with a requirement to work in our Sydney, CBD office.
Key responsibilities
- Perform nominated administrative and secretarial duties as required for effective operation of the DCEO and business units which report to this position.
- Manage the diary, travel and other business requirements of the DCEO.
- Manage the travel and accommodation requests of members of the business units which report to the DCEO as well as external stakeholders as needed.
- Obtain and organise information for use in conferences, speeches and reports as requested by the DCEO.
- Assist business unit team members with specific elements of program delivery including collation of data and information.
- Assist in the arrangement of DCEO business unit meetings, workshops and seminars including catering.
- Taking minutes as requested.
- Monitor incoming telephone calls, mail, e-mail, and other material.
- Review incoming correspondence, despatching material to appropriate personnel.
- Coordinate webinar/video conference/teleconference electronic meetings for internal and external stakeholders as requested.
- Support other CSNSW Team Assistants to meet company objectives when required and in their absence.
- Provide reception relief and coverage in the receptionist’s absence.
- Assist with operation and cleaning of coffee machine as required.
- Attend to other ad hoc duties as required.
Essential Requirements
- National Criminal History Record Check in accordance with the Disability Inclusion Act 2014
- Working with Children Check clearance in accordance with the Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012.
- Relevant education qualifications.
- At least 5 years in a similar role, preferably within an education environment.
- Empathy with and support for the mission, ethos and beliefs of Catholic schools and the communities they serve.
- Advanced Microsoft Office Skills and a willingness to learn additional platforms as required.
- Commitment to maintaining privacy, confidentiality and dealing respectfully with sensitive information.
- Highly developed organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining quality and meeting timeframes.
