About the Role
The Team Leader, Academic Policy and Governance manages a small team to provide academic support in the Faculty of Science, overseeing curriculum processes and policy implementation. They collaborate with stakeholders, ensure quality assurance, and maintain relationships across departments and university offices.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Effectively plan and coordinate the administration of curriculum development for academic programs within the faculty.
  • Provide high-level support in major program reviews and the creation of new teaching and learning initiatives and collaborate closely with key stakeholders to enhance curriculum design.
  • Lead and guide a small team, setting performance expectations, providing feedback, and documenting outcomes. Motivate, coach, and supervise staff to achieve goals, addressing poor performance and recognizing high performance.
  • Act as a member of Faculty Academic Programs Committees and Course Standing Committee.

Who We Are Looking For
You will ideally demonstrate excellent customer service, strong communication skills, and the ability to interpret policies, develop procedures, and manage relationships effectively.

You will also have:

  • A relevant degree, and experience in curriculum development or learning support, preferably within a higher education institution, or extensive relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in quantitative data literacy, demonstrated by the capability to extract data from various systems and present it in standard formats using tools like Excel or similar software.
  • Skilled in developing and reviewing administrative procedures and systems in response to changes.

This role requires that the successful candidate must undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University. In the case the selected candidate doesn't have a valid Working with Children Check, they will be able to apply for the WWCC as part of the initial onboarding procedures.
