Adult Mental Health Services North (AMHSN) is looking for a positive leader to take the AMHSN forward and into the next phase of the Statewide Mental Health Service reform program in the north. We are looking for a leader with experience and commitment to collaborate with and across services, anticipate positivity in others, de-escalate and problem solve challenging issues in a trauma informed way, and possesses great deal of self-awareness and self-regulation to remain grounded and rational in the face of service and strategic level challenges. The role:
- Provide leadership and direction in the management of multidisciplinary teams to ensure the provision of high quality, comprehensive, specialist Mental Health service to a designated population group within a specified regional area in accordance with the principles and goals specified in the Mental Health Services Strategic Plan and Service Blueprint.
- Provide leadership and change management through the allocation of human resources to ensure that service delivery requirements are met; staff education needs are identified and addressed; and in particular, the issues of consumers and carers remain central to the service.
- Coordinate the effective management of the AOPCMHS Team including planning, organisation, preparation and analysis of budgets, budgetary and service control and staff appointments.
- Ensure the appropriate allocation of human resources to meet triage, intake, crisis response, assertive case management and regional group program requirements through the implementation and management of the workload monitoring and case allocation tools.

This position is located in beautiful Launceston – or “Launnie” to the locals. Launceston is located in Northen Tasmania, known for its sweeping valleys and vast farmland. The city offers a vibrant yet laid-back culture with a plethora of options to explore Tasmanian’s finest produce; farmers markets, urban bars, cafes, wineries, and distillers to name a few. Launceston is one of Australia’s oldest cities, some must-dos include; Cataract Gorge, City Park, the Sports Stadium and Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery. All located within the city centre.
The Adult Mental Health Service Team North (the Team) is committed to partnering with our consumer to provide excellent contemporary community based Mental Health care.

Details of Appointment
Permanent, full time, day worker (with on call) position working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing from 17th June 2024.

- Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.
Salary: $139,492 to $141,354 per annum. Our Employer 11% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No. 2 of 2022
Eligibility:
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:
Satisfactory completion of an approved allied health professional tertiary qualification/program of study and registered with the relevant National Board or, in the case of self-regulated allied health professions, full membership/eligible for membership with the relevant professional association

Completion or progression towards the completion of a post graduate qualification relevant to the position
