Tusk Group is seeking to hire a Team Captain to work on-site at one of Tusk's high-profile contracts. Reporting to the site and Tusk leadership group you will be responsible for various tasks involving the Tusk casuals. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Team Leader to take on an integral role within a fast-paced third-party logistics operation.
Safety objective….
- Train and induct new starters
- Observe and assess competency based on the Safe Work Procedure across week 1
- Assessing all casuals in their department on fit for purpose fit for duty
- Oversee correct manual handling techniques – coach & train on any gaps
- Being the first respondent to an injury to ensure self-management and immediate return to work
- Safety conversations
- Hazard identification & reporting
Productivity objective
- Work side by side with the casuals in their department leading by example
- Coaching on correct operating procedures to ensure productivity KPIs are being met
- Correct pallet building
- Managing productivity output including picking KPIs
- In conjunction with Toll Toolbox at the start of each shift setting team goals and objectives for the shift.
- Having a visual display to refer to. Safety & productivity key focus
- End of shift Toolbox outcomes of the shift. What worked well and what didn’t. Identify stand-out team members of the day and why. Safety and productivity callouts.
Daily KPI Measures
- Hazards in work area identified
- Number of safety conversations performed
- What went right on the shift
- What went wrong
- Casuals worked with to improve productivity issues identified & outcome
- New casuals inducted and trained
- Casuals not performing to be exited
- Assessing casuals fir for purpose fit for duty
- Casuals signed off as competent
- Dress standard conversations
To ensure your success with this role you must have proven Team Leadership experience in a similar role, and excellent people skills and communication that drives and motivates a team to ensure productivity success and output. Ideally, you will be First Aid qualified and have worked in a fast paced distribution centre with multiple departments including sortation and picking.
