About the Service
Centrecare in partnership with Wungening Aboriginal Corporation have established a metropolitan wide partnership in delivering Youth Justice Services aimed at providing the best possible outcomes for at risk young people and the West Australian community. This partnership offers a range of significant benefits including:
- An integrated and coordinated network of quality Youth Justice Services based at Wungening in Mirrabooka (the North Hub) but managed from Centrecare in Gosnells (the South Hub).
- A uniform approach to service delivery in the area of rehabilitation and emotional wellbeing for young people and their families referred to the service in the metropolitan area.

About the role
Centrecare is seeking a qualified Team Leader to lead an integrated team of youth workers who provide support to young people engaged with the Youth Justice system. As Team Leader, you will provide the team with practical support and direction, ensuring high-quality delivery of the program in order to meet all contractual requirements. Our ideal candidate will be someone who has a therapeutic and evidence-based practice approach, has previously supervised employees, and has worked with client issues ranging from offending behaviours, domestic violence, drug and alcohol misuse and trauma.
The roster for this role is Tuesday to Saturday and works across both the North and South hubs. It will be mainly based in our Gosnells branch but will spend approximately 2 days a week in the Mirrabooka branch.
A Few Specifics
- Lead an integrated team of up to 16 staff from Centrecare and Wungening Aboriginal Corporation.
- Work within Centrecare’s Therapeutic Framework to ensure consistency and integrity in service delivery and outcomes measurement.
- Ensure quality services are provided to young people engaged with the Youth Justice system
- Support staff through regular management supervision, team meetings and group supervision.
- Complete reports, review statistics, and update management on service delivery.
- Maintain professional relationships with program stakeholders and attend relevant funding body meetings.
- Train and support staff on internal processes
- Providing on call support for our other Justice services where required.
Selection Criteria (must be addressed and submitted with the application)
- Recognised tertiary level qualifications in Psychology, Social Work, Social Sciences, Counselling and/or related disciplines.
- Experience in planning and monitoring the delivery of services to young people at risk of offending (including intake, screening, assessment, counselling, appropriate support services and evaluation of services).
- Understanding of relevant legislation, regulations and external standards that apply to relevant work practices.
- Well-developed communication skills, written and verbal.
- An understanding of culturally appropriate, strength-based approaches to client services.
- Experience providing management supervision and leading group case management.
- Ability to lead and work within a multiagency, multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to work Tuesday to Saturday.
- Hold a current driver’s license.
- Current National Police Clearance (obtained within the last 12 months).
- A Current Working with Children Check or the ability to obtain one.
