We are currently seeking a full time experienced Dental Assistant to lead, supervise and support our clinical team.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Dental Assistant with great communication and leadership skills. The successful applicant will possess effective and assertive communication styles, with the ability to build and develop positive relationships.
We relocated to a larger, modern, state-of-the art, purpose-built practice in January 2024. We have expanded to a 6-chair practice.
The successful applicant will receive support and guidance from the Practice Manager.

- Certificate III in dental assisting
- Monitor team performance and ensure each team member is kept accountable for their duties
- Maintain clinical compliance
- Overseeing and coordination of all clinical procedures/systems
- Get ‘buy-in’ from the team to effectively lead and provide direction
- Resolve conflict effectively by focusing on facts rather than emotions
- Manage your own emotions during difficult and stressful situations and ask for support when necessary
- Ensure team members feel listened to and understood
- Ensure all procedures and protocols are followed by all team members
- Effectively provide feedback to team members and follow up on any requested changes
- Address concerns immediately and report to Practice manager and principal dentist when necessary
- Ensure smooth running of the day
- Demonstrate empathy and understanding
- Promote strong team spirit and supportive culture
- Show respect and establish clear directions, distribute workload effectively and maintain two way dialogue with team members
- Maintain open communication with clinicians and address any clinically relevant concerns
Manage equipment and stock
- Monitor and order consumables and instruments
- Maintain and foster relationships with suppliers and reps
- Accurately record invoices and stay within a given budget
- Organise repairs and maintenance of equipment
Training new staff members
- Training junior Dental Assistants
- Onboarding (Clinical aspect) new Dental Assistants
Liaise with practice manager and principal dentist
- Follow direction provided by practice manager and/or principal dentist
- Weekly meetings with principal dentist
- Daily support to the Practice Manager on achievement of tasks
- Honest, clear and open communication
Overseeing the general cleanliness of the practice
Overseeing the internal & external lab work within the practice
Provide chairside assistance when required
- Must have minimum 3 years clinical experience
