Job description

Where you come in:

In this full time, permanent position, based in Brisbane you’ll be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Bridges refuge, ensuring the delivery of quality services within contractual and compliance obligations. You'll provide supervision and development support to a team of Family Support Specialists and Child Support Specialists. This role works 9am-5pm Monday to Friday, with on call responsibilities on a rotating roster. You'll be an active and contributing member of the Southern Queensland DFV Programs leadership team and will report to a Regional Manager.

You will make an impact by:

  • Provide feedback to team to ensure quality service delivery by maintaining team awareness of role responsibilities, and outcomes as per contractual obligations and stakeholder expectations
  • Provide effective leadership to a team of practitioners, including the provision of direct supervision, coaching, development, capability building and performance management at stages of the employee lifecycles, with a focus on developing strong and sustainable teams
  • Ensure timely and accurate monitoring, evaluation and reporting on programmatic inputs, deliverables and outcomes
  • Maintain effective stakeholder relationships by liaising and consulting with local communities, professionals, service providers and referral services to ensure our services are meeting client and contractual obligations
  • Identify, manage and monitor risks to program/service delivery, quality, staff wellbeing and Child Safeguarding
  • Provide advocacy within the broader service system on behalf of children, parents and or carers

Does this sound like you?

You have strong knowledge of domestic and family violence and how it impacts families and communities. These skills will see you continuously develop staff knowledge, ensuring strength based, trauma informed practice.  You demonstrate strong leadership skills to motivate and guide a high performing team to achieve collective goals, program and client outcomes. You have a genuine passion to support and manage a high-performing team to meet and exceed objectives and achieve positive outcomes for children and young people. You foster a collaborative outcome driven culture implementing strategies to enhance team performance; model effective communication to foster a positive and inclusive work environment

This role requires:

  • A Bachelor of Social Work, Psychology or relevant Human Service Qualification and/or significant experience managing a similar service
  • A current valid driver’s licence
  • Knowledge of best practice, professional standards, legislation and relevant research in the field of domestic and family violence
  • Experience in coaching, mentoring and the transfer of skills and knowledge to others
