Our Brendale Head Office and main manufacturing and warehousing facility are complimented by warehousing in Perth and Melbourne. We are privately owned family business in this industry for just over 20 years.
This position is an internal position and will be based at our head office at Brendale on Brisbane's north side and we are looking for the right candidate for a start as soon as possible.
ROLE
We are looking for a permanent full-time Production Team Leader to lead our Fabrication Manufacturing Team.
Reporting to the Managing Director, the ideal candidate will be process orientated with great attention to detail and be proactive in continuous improvement.
The role is Monday – Friday - full time role. Occasional flexibility will be expected with a slight change to start and finish times during the busy periods.
Your role is lead and supervise the day-to-day operations a small team of 12, sometimes 15 odd team members, with various skills making a varied product range, ensuring detailed Quality Control during and at the end of production whilst ensuring that our continued high standard of quality work is achieved on time, consistently, efficiently and safely.
This is more a hands on role as opposed to endless hours of computer work, although basic computer skills are required.
Tasks & responsibilities
- With Admin assistance, scheduling / planning of daily Production schedules
- Responsible for the day-to-day management of the production
- Ensure production plan is implemented and followed.
- Ensure workplace is operated in a safe manner.
- Continuous monitoring and audit of workplace to ensure conformance to process and Quality Control.
- Ensure performance is within KPI's / Budget expectations
- Factory time sheets are correct and scanned to Admin
- Work with the procurement team to ensure raw materials are in stock ahead of the manufacturing activities
- Factory Machinery are maintained and that Faults or breakdowns are recorded and attended to
- Implement and measure the training matrix and ensure it covers business needs.
- Support continuous improvement projects
About You:
- Strong people management skills in a manufacturing environment
- Forklift license
- The ability to interact positively with all levels of the workforce, operational staff, and management
- Process-orientated with strong attention to detail skills
- You must be results-oriented, using your initiative to make things happen, with a commitment to meeting targets and deadlines
- This is a busy role so must have strong organisational and time-management skills
- Basic computer skills / Computer literacy – MS Office (required)
- Experience in ‘fabricating’ type Manufacturing but not necessarily specific to our Industry as full training will be provided
- Positive attitude, organised and self-motivated.
- Highly competent in problem-solving.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
