Expectations: A highly motivated person to lead our team of Disability Support Workers. The Disability Support Worker program provides support to NDIS participants to assist them in achieving goals set out in their NDIS plans. You will be responsible for quality of our services, referrals, induction, rostering, providing support to the team, and coordinating professional development and supervision.
You will be required to travel in the Redcliffe/Bayside/Logan/Gold Coast and surrounding areas.
Position Requirements:
• Knowledge of human rights-based approaches in the disability sector
• Genuine passion for working with people with disability
•3 years minimum experience in Disability Support Work and NDIS
•3 years minimum experience in groups day setting (NDIS sector)
•A commitment to occupational health and safety (OHS)
• Experience in Risk Assessments
• Ability to manage a diverse team
• Willingness to travel within Brisbane and surrounding areas
• Qualifications in the Community Sector
• Working with Children Check and Police Check
• Own vehicle and current driver’s licence
Position Duties:
• Lead the team and work as an individual practitioner
• Monitor and coach for individual and team outcomes and performance.
• Share operational or procedural direction with Service Managers and advice with the team.
- Seek advice on complex issues where some liaison with other teams or organisations is involved
- Prepares management reports as required
• Ensure participants are appropriately supported to resolve issues
• Ensure quality of service across the team
- Manage the safety of the team through Induction, OHS, Risk assessments and check-ins.
- Ensure team members possess required certification and checks
• Ensures adherence to organisation policies & procedures and all relevant government legislation and standards. Mana Wellness Disability Services Policy and Procedures.
