Primary objective

Provide high-level advice and corporate support and work collaboratively with the agencies service partners including Department of

Corporate and Digital Development and Department of Infrastructure and Planning to contribute to the delivery of strategic and

operational priorities. Provide leadership and line management to the Facilities team and other internal stakeholders to ensure responsive,

high quality and cost effective facilities management.

Key duties and responsibilities

1. Manage and provide oversight of the agency’s portfolio of leased and owned facilities to meet the agency’s current and future needs

and manage the delivery of the agency’s facilities and corporate services.

2. Lead strategic facilities development projects in collaboration with senior executives and external stakeholders to commission

facilities and ensure their effective operations that enhance services delivery and program outcomes.

3. Develop and maintain effective policies, governance and reporting systems in all areas of facilities management and prepare a range

reports, memorandums and Ministerials as required.

4. Liaise with Department of Infrastructure, Planning and Logistics, ensure the effective implementation of the Department’s minor new

works, repairs and maintenance and capital works programs.

5. Develop and maintain strong and effective relationships with the agency’s central and regional-based staff and stakeholders and

provide advice and support for the progression of infrastructure, repairs, property leasing, land tenure, and various corporate services.

6. Lead the team in the delivery of client focussed service; manage resources appropriately to address changing operational

requirements and proactively manage the Facilities team recruitment, human resources and performance.

Selection criteria

Essential

1. Well-developed working knowledge of asset management, infrastructure, property leasing procedures, office fit outs and corporate

services.

2. Sound understanding of governance frameworks, procurement and contract management practices and financial administration,

including accounts payable processes.

3. High-level organisation and prioritisation skills and experience in managing a facilities portfolio and leading infrastructure projects of

varying size and complexity with completing priorities.

4. High level written and oral communication skills, with ability to engage and influence diverse groups, encouraging support of relevant

stakeholders, adapting communications style for the audience to convey technical and complex issues.

5. Demonstrated ability to supervise staff, set priorities, monitor workflows and manage performance within a high-paced environment.

6. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and sustain collaborative business relationships and networks to drive change, lead

projects and achieve quality outcomes.

7. A current NT drivers’ licence (C class) and the ability to undertake travel to urban, regional and remote locations, at times in light

aircraft and 4WD vehicles.

Desirable

1. Knowledge of Territory Families, Housing and Communities or facilities management experience in a complex social services

environment.

2. Experience with NT Government systems.
