Team Leader/ Principal Transport Planner

About the role

Stantec’s Transport Planning and Advisory team partners with its clients to provide traffic and transport solutions for the community and we are currently seeking a Team Leader/ Principal Transport Planner to join our team based in Brisbane. 

As Team Leader, you will provide leadership to ensure alignment to company strategy, initiatives, vision, and culture. You will be the advocate of the business both internally within Stantec and externally to clients and professional organisations within the region. The Team Leader position is a function, in addition to an employee’s substantive technical/ project contribution role as a Principal Transport Planner.

You will be responsible for undertaking, delegating and overseeing a range of responsibilities, from; complex problem solving and innovation, information analysis, transport modelling, economic analysis report writing, and client engagement and liaison. You will ensure your team is supported, engaged and adequately resourced to meet project requirements and that the team is trained and appropriately skilled. 

We are currently working on some exciting projects that include:

• Social infrastructure
• Major precinct planning
• Growth area master planning 
• Rail and road infrastructure and corridor planning
• Stadia and major event planning.

To be successful for this role you'll need:

• Bachelors degree in Engineering/ Planning or equivalent technical qualification
• Minimum of ten years of related work experience
• Effective communication with clients and internal stakeholders 
• Collaborative approach to work and team mentality along with managing staff
• Significant Transport Planning experience with demonstrable ability – we would hope that you have managed projects and had a large amount of autonomy on projects 
• Strong capability to manage workload and deliver projects
• Ability to work across multiple projects simultaneously .
