About the Role
We currently have a vacancy within our leadership team in our Health & Regulatory Services section for an experienced Ranger. In this role, you will lead and coordinate Council’s Rangers, RID Officer, Animal Management Officers and oversee the operations of Council’s Animal Management Shelter.
Leading the Ranger Services team, you will carry out the Statutory responsibilities of a Local Government Enforcement Ranger, as Authorised and delegated, including the investigation of complaints received by Council in relation to non-compliance issues across the Shire.
The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate their competency for the position by meeting the following essential criteria:
- Appropriate tertiary qualification in Ranger Services or Compliance and/or extensive relevant experience.
- Minimum four (4) years relevant work experience in a leadership, regulatory and enforcement role.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply legislation relevant to the position.
- Experience in dealing with the Local Court and in Local Government prosecutions including the preparation of Briefs of Evidence, Statements of Facts and Contention and representation of Council at Mentions.
- Experience in the management of an Animal Shelter including volunteers, companion animals and stock.
- Current Class C driver’s licence and Working with Children Clearance.
